The best way to get people and search engines (which means more people) to your website is by getting relevant inbound links. If you have some spiffy new gimmick on your website this may be easy as everyone will be linking to you.
However, with a basic, solid web page the process maybe much more difficult and slower. How do you get people to link to you?
The best way is to empty your wallet! Ok, just kidding, but first we will learn how easy that is.
For example there is a pay for blogging service that will cost you at least $5 per blog post (ie: per link) and maybe $25 or more. Now that will eat up your budget, and fast. These paid blog links don’t come with any guarantee. You might get lots of visitors and you might not get any at all.
Pay per click is another great option for spending all your money. This will bring you visitors for sure and you’ll know how much each one costs. That’s it. There is no long term benefit. The ads show for only as long as you pay for them. When your money isn’t on the table, you don’t exist!
You can buy links all over the place and again this may end up costing you a pretty penny, you may or may not get suitable results but when you stop paying the results (good or bad) stop. You gain nothing for the future.
Now blogs are a great way to get visitors and develop a long term return. Blog posts tend to stick around for a long time. The trick here is to get people to blog about your website without forking over a bundle of your hard earned cash.
A great idea is to become a guest blogger. This would be where you write blog posts for other people’s blogs. Read: your links on someone else’s website for free!
This puts you in the drivers seat for a couple of reasons. First you have control over exactly what is said. Secondly, if you do a good job you may have the opportunity to make regular blog posts. That will build an audience on the blogs for your writing and turn into more and higher quality traffic for your website.
The key to being a great guest blogger is to write short (3 to 6 or so paragraph) posts that are interesting, informative, humorous and relevant to the topic of the blog (and your website). Of course they should have a link to your website. Don’t over do the linking. Don’t make it sound like an advertisement or something you just cut and pasted from your website.
A few minutes to compose a couple of well thought out paragraphs could do wonders for your web traffic. Keep looking for guest blogging opportunities and never use the same post for more than one blog. One post could bring a lifetime of traffic.
This may well be your most effective way to developing quality web traffic and enhancing your the SEO for your website(s).
Perhaps “blogging” isn’t such a graceful word. For me, personally, it sounds like a worded drudgery the way cereals can be soggy, skies can be foggy, and the way minds can be groggy. But for now, it’s too late to rename this shortened word for web-logging. Widespread blogging is nevertheless one of the most engaging Internet developments of the past few years. As a medium it gives rise to many new and worthy voices and plays a new and vital force in shaping opinions, political realities, trends, and even our language.
I believe that a blog is simply a tool to use for someone who’s got something to say. Let me be clear in saying that a blog is a poor choice for someone who needs a megaphone to scream out to cyberspace in order to elicit a meaningful response from Internet users. If you want attention and want it now and expect blogging to bring it to you, then this will surely be a disappointment. However, if you like to write and engage others on subjects of which you have some command or experience, then it’s a wonderful application with which you can interact with people who share similar interests as you. The hype is well founded. (Create Stunning Marketing Video Using Free & Paid Tools)
Anyway, here’s a list of blogging tips…
1.) Be topical.
Cohesiveness in message is not optional. Readers may or may not be interested in your topic, but if your message is haphazard that few will bother remembering to return to your blog because it essentially would offer nothing to remember. This doesn’t mean blogs can’t jump from subject to subject. For instance, a blog with a humorous focus has all the leeway in the world for subject matter, but it would be foolish for such a blog to turn the humor on and off. In such an example, the aspect of humor would be content’s glue, the strength of the blog. The beauty of staying on point and on topic is that eventually, due to the nature of the Internet, you will find those interested solely in your topic. (as opposed to online diaries. There are millions of them on the internet, few have any readers. Email me with examples if I’m wrong and I’ll be able to show you why you’re showing me a blog and not a diary.)
2.) Refresh your content
Create a schedule and stick to it. Realizing that blogging requires time and effort, don’t create unrealistic expectations and be unable to deliver. An occasional lapse or holiday is generally understood but readers returning to find stale, out-dated content are going to find another blog with similar content. New blogs and RSS feeds are popping up on a daily basis. If you have worked hard to develop an audience and a community you don’t want to lose them due to lack of communication.
And remember, what’s old is not new and, for blogs, thusly not interesting. 2006 isn’t the time to rail against Enron or Vanilla Ice. Insight doesn’t matter much to yesterday’s news.
3.) Clear Language Counts.
Blessed is the blog with a clear line of logic. Write without inside jokes, clique-y catchphrases or ambiguous logic. First time readers need to be close to your message. They are more likely to return to blogs that strike them positively. If the first read is confusing there will not be a second read.
4.) Feed the Spiders.
Search engines take notice of active blogs and blog search engines are especially sensitive to activity. If nothing else, search engines are smarter today than they were yesterday and are only getting smarter. In constantly improving they are seeking to aggregate quality; quality blogs are updated several times a week, if not daily, as opposed to once or twice a month. I don’t mean to scare you but a big spider is watching, so dance for them.
Think of RSS like a magic to blogging world, because that’s the effect it’s had. RSS feeds are a way to exponentially sound your voice to the interested. These feeds are a great means to increase the distribution and readership of your original content.

Here is a step-by-step guide to optimizing every blog you create:
To begin, log into your WordPress admin panel and click on the Settings tab. Under General Settings make sure that you enter in your blog title and tagline.
For your blog title, do not just enter in your domain name but instead focus on entering in keywords that relate to the theme of your blog based on the content you intend to create.
For example, if I was creating a blog that focused on the cake decorating niche, my blog title might be something like this:
There are a few things to keep in mind when you are entering in titles for your blog posts and pages.
Search engines like Google.com only show the first 70 characters of your title within search results, so be sure to include your most important keywords within each title, stripping away any extra words that you just don’t need.
Focus heavily on your primary keywords, and make sure that your blog’s page titles vary, so that each one contains a different set of keywords and phrases, relevant to your niche market..
Meta tags are very important in ensuring that your blog ranks well within search engines. The All In One SEO Pack plugin that we activated will make this exceptionally easy to do. From within your WordPress admin panel, click on “Settings” and look for the All In One SEO link.
Click it to load its option page.
Here you will be able to enter in the Home Title.
If you want to use the main title that you entered earlier, just leave this blank and it will use your default blog title.
Once your pages rank within the search engines, potential visitors will see your description and title, so be sure to enter in a detailed, relevant description about the subject matter of your blog.
When creating content, including page titles, meta tags and even category titles, be sure to always focus on including relevant keywords relating to your niche.
To do this, create a keyword swipe file that includes a broad range of keywords that target your market, and do your best to always include a handful of keywords with every post or page you create. Search engines will place more weight on keyword phrases that appear within the first few lines of each individual blog page or post, so be sure to keep that in mind when constructing your categories and content so that the most important keyword phrases are used at the beginning of the content.
The All In One SEO plugin can generate these based on the categories that you will create, or you can enter them in manually. Choose relevant keywords and separate them by commas’.
making money blogging, blog money, blog cash, monetize blogs, blog payment, pro blogger, etc.
Next, click the “Rewrite Titles” option so it’s activated.
Scroll down until you see “Use Categories For Meta keywords” and tick this on to activate this feature as well.
Select to use noindex for Categories and Archives.
Click to activate Autogenerate Descriptions.
Leave everything else as is, and click Save Changes.
The next step is to ensure that your blog is included within search engines like Google, but also blog based communities such as Technorati.
In order to do this, click on the Privacy tab and click the link that indicates your blog will be visible to everyone, including search engines.
Next, I set up permalinks in settings. Setting your permalinks correctly will help you rank better because they will contain relevant keywords based on the different page content that you create.
Click on the “Custom” option and paste the following into the text box (double check for accuracy to ensure it matches with no extra spaces!)
To include the category, you change it to:
Doing this will modify your website URL’s so that they are search engine friendly, featuring your category titles and post / page title with your chosen keywords. This makes the URLs on your blog look like this:
If you had already created posts, you will want to ensure that those who visit your older URL’s are instantly redirected to your new pages. You can use the free “Redirection Plugin” to ensure that people are not directed to nonexistent pages.
The next step is to ensure that your blog is included within search engines like Google, but also that it is featured within blog-based communities such as Technorati and Feedburner.
In order to do this, click on the Privacy tab and click the link that indicates your blog will be visible to everyone, including search engines. Click “Save Changes” to complete this step.
Let’s take a look at the options under the “Discussion” tab. You will want to ensure that the first three options are enabled, so that other blogs are notified whenever you link to them, and that you are allowing pingbacks and trackbacks.
Pingbacks: Are when someone (Person 1) posts on their blog and someone else (Person 2) posting to their own blog links back to person 1. This automatically sends a pingback to Person 1 when both have pingback-enabled blogs.
Trackbacksare a way to notify blog systems that you’ve linked to them. If you link other WordPress blogs they’ll be notified automatically using pingbacks, so no other action necessary.
Are you tired of working on something you don’t love? Well, why not generate an income through blogging.
Step #1: You need to pick a niche. The niche should be something you are passionate about or else you will eventually quit.
Blogging doesn’t make you a passive income fast, it can take 6 to 12 months. Hence you should be passionate about the subject you are blogging about.
You can also use Google Trends to see if your niche is small or big.
Step #2: Sign up for fast web hosting is often overlooked by bloggers, but is a very important step if you hope to make a passive income online blogging.

With a fast website, you’ll be able to get more sales and this means you’ll start to make a passive income online blogging.
Step #3: Sart writing content. Make sure you are writing content that people want to read. If no one wants to read your content you won’t do well. So before you start writing, come up with topic ideas and ask others what they think.
When writing your content make sure you create an appealing headline. 8 out of 10 people will read your headline, but only 2 out of 10 will read the rest of your content.
If you are wondering how to create an appealing headline, check out the Copyblogger headline formula.
Step #4: Outline your content before you start writing. Think of your high school English class. From the introduction to the conclusion to the body, outline your content.
A few more tips to follow are that paragraphs shouldn’t be longer than 5 or 6 lines, you are using the words “you” and “I” as well as including subheadings. This makes your content skimmable and more enjoyable to read.
Make sure you ask a question at the end of your conclusion as this will help encourage comments.
Step #5: Link out to other blogs. When you are writing content you have to link out to other people to cite your sources. This ensures your content is credible.
Step #6: Write 1 to 3 times a week. Being consistent is important or else your blog won’t grow. Try to blog 3 times a week if you have the time.
Step #7: If you want to be a successful blogger who makes a passive income online, then you need to know how to get readers back to your blog.
You can use the free tools Hello Bar and Subscribers. These two tools will get people coming back to your blog on a regular basis.
This will make it easier to monetize your website in the future.
Step #8: Monetize your blog. You have multiple options when it comes to making money. You can try Google AdSense, which is ads Google puts on your blog.
You can test out affiliate links through Clickbank. In which you get paid every time you promote someone else’s products or services and you drive a sale.
For fresh residual income opportunities, you can create your own products or services. From things like selling clothes if you have a fashion blog to creating an ebook around a pain point your readers are facing the possibilities are endless.
